Report from Trudy SCHENK on Goetzis Extractions:
"The enclosed sheets are the last ones where all information comes from microfilm #1729781. There is one more group that will have information from this film and some names from the following film. I am totally done with this film now. I tried to find the christenings of wives and husbands names other than GISINGER, WALSER, and BUSCHAUER. Some came from neighboring towns. I have another group almost ready, but I want to see if more children are recorded in the following film. Sincerely yours, Trudy Schenk."
As we start the new year we can really look back at progress made during the past year. Our work this year will be to continue on in the Goetzis records and identify all relatives that we can. We will then send in a large Ancestral File submission so that our work can be preserved on the records of the Church. I have more names to finish up on the BRILL descendants and I have a whole bunch of names of Charles GEISSINGER's descendants which I am currently working on. We have several thousand identified to date.
Elizabeth HALL Research Update James COCKERHAM of North Carolina has identified the parents of Mary CANNON (wife of William EAST). They are: William CANNON and Judith WOODSON. We need to see James' documentation about this. If true, it is extremely encouraging. In the last few months a lot of information has been learned about the EAST family. Dates are starting to trickle in and progress is being made on that line. There must be a lot of EASTs concerned that we find out about them. Jack and Mary RASMUSSEN are the pioneer researchers of this line. They are coordinating with Winston EWING and James COCKERHAM and are starting to see great progress after months and months of discouraging research with little success.
If other family members are doing MOWER related research--- that is--- lines that tie into the MOWER line--- and you want other relatives to know about your progress, just drop me a letter and I'll put it in the NL.
I plan on researching several days during the Christmas break at the library. I have so many leads to work on on GEISSINGER descendants that I could spend a month there. Nelson EDDY of Terre Haute, Indiana is inundating me with material. He is so thrilled someone is interested in his GUISINGER work. I have received 7 computer disks from him to date, loaded with information. This amounts to several hundreds of pages of documentation.
Nelson's wife has just undergone cancer surgery and he is very concerned about her health. He asked me if I would consider remembering her in my prayers. I would like to report to him that I asked 135 MOWER related families--- (all of whom descend from Charles GEISSINGER, just like his wife) to remember his wife in their prayers. Without the fortunate meeting of Nelson EDDY with our Family Association, we would be back to square one on the descendants of Charles GEISSINGER. Just a coincidence that we linked up with him right?? If any of you would like to write Nelson and send a get well card his address is: Nelson R. EDDY, 1634 Second Ave., Terre Haute, Indiana 47807 Wouldn't 135 get well cards be a surprise to his wife?
