Subject: Completed letter of June 28, 1998
Dear Jerry,
After corresponding with Darmstadt back and forth, I finally found out that the microfilmed church records for the district we need to find the Briehls are located at Kassel. I sent a letter to Kassel asking for a schedule of the hours and days they are open and especially to let me know if the church records I need to check are indeed filmed. I'm awaiting an answer. A few days ago I received another answer to a letter I wrote 9 months ago to Niederasphe. The pastor of this small place engaged the same gentlemen Dr. Stoehr to take over this search. Dr. Stoehr let me know that he did search the Niederasphe parish and found the name Briehl/Brill recorded, but no Martin. He still thinks that Frohnhausen is the right place. He asked for another $10.00 for his time and expense and I sent him $20.00. I did ask him to contact pastor Kopania in Frohnhausen and asked if he would go there and do a preliminary search. I also told him I would pay for his time and expense of traveling.
I am certainly being challenged in this process, yet hopefully patience will pay off. This past week I have searched in a Rheinhessen area near Worms where many Penns. emigrants left from. I took the time to check ca. 30 parishes for Martin Briehl in such places as: Alzey, Sprendlingen, Wollstein, Worrstadt, Badenheim, Biebelsheim, Bosenheim, Eckelsheim, Frei Laubersheim, Furfeld, Gumbsheim, Hackenheim, Ippesheim, Neu-Bamberg, Siefersheim, Stein Bockenheim, Volxheim, Flonheim, Lonsheim, Rommersheim, Spiesheim, Schimsheim, Weinheim, Erbes-Budesheim, Offenheim, Oberflorsehim, Flomborn, Gundersheim, Monzernheim, Eppelsheim, Wallertheim, Molsheim, Framersheim, Gau-Kongernheim, Gau Odernheim and Albig.
The name Briehl/Brill is not used in this area yet the given names Hermann and Martin are. I am convinced that the Kreis Wetter is where I will find this illusive family.
Don't loose faith in me.

I would like to see a link to your pages from the Bedford Co. GENWEB page. I stumbled upon your pages, but believe your pages have a lot to offer Bedford County researchers.
Thank you for the excellent info your site offers. I am not a descendant of
the MOWERs, but my HOOK relatives married to LOGUEs are. All are in/around
Bedford Co.
Thank you again.

Subject: Abraham Mower B. 1820
Dear Mowers,
I have a connection with Abraham Mower B. 1820 through the Plessinger
family. Can you tell me anything about his ancestry or more about his
descendants? I have attached an Ancestral Story Chart for one of his two
children to show the limits of my research.
Yours sincerely,
Don McKee
(Sorry, can't give more than what is on the Ancestral File)

Subject: names for Vernal Temple
Date: Thu, 23 Jul 98 23:04:03 PDT
Jerry, Sam and Joyce Kelly are going to the Vernal, Utah temple to do several endowments. Could you please send about four (4) male and (4) female names to us. We will be sure to complete them. We won't be back in St George until the middle of October. Our address where to send the names in Grand Junction is: Joyce M. Kelly, 772A - 27 Road, Grand Junction, CO, 81506. Too bad we can't pick family file up at the Vernal Temple. We'll make the best of a much more difficult problem. Hope your weather in Wyoming is cooler than the west slope. Thanx, Joyce Kelly.
(We are not sure as to how we are going to handle 100 families receiving names to work at individual temples. It is mind boggling to do the paper work, keep track of names and not lose any. It might just be better to turn the names into the temple patron file and that way they don't get let out of the temple, don't get lost, and the work gets done.)

Just wanted to say that you have a great website. I found much of the information regarding Bedford County, PA records extremely useful. You put a lot of time and effort into extracting and copying these records into a readable format. My appreciation to you!
