Dear Jerry:

I hope that this finds you and your family in good health, and that you had a good Christmas. I have been able to extend several of your lines this time, which I will tell you about as this report progresses. First, you will find an updated set of pedigree charts.

Most of my research this time has been at Ramsberg parish in Orebro. The first family group sheet is from pedigree chart #2 for the family of Eric Ersson and Karin Ersdotter (family #39). They are your 7th great grandparents. Eric Ersson was born in 1684 at Ramsberg, the son of Eric Ersson and Catarina or Carin Larsdotter (family #47). They were married in 1683 at Ramsberg and so far I have only found record of the two sons. Eric Ersson Sr. was originally from Korberg, but later moved to Strassa, both in Ramsberg.

The early research at Ramsberg is interesting and difficult because the clerical survey records actually begin before the parish records. The clerical survey records begin in 1664, but the parish records do not begin until 1679. It is likely that some of the early parish registers were lost. The early clerical survey records are very helpful, but they give only names, residences, and relationships. They do not give any birth, marriage, or death dates. So many of the calculated dates could be off by several years, and further research is needed to try to firm up these dates.

The clerical survey records show that Erich Ersson Sr. was the son of Erich Andersson and his wife Ingeborg of Korberg in Ramsberg (family #443). This is on pedigree chart #10. The clerical survey records show a large family, nine children in all, all apparently born before the parish registers begin. Erich Andersson and Ingeborg are your 9th great grandparents. I was able to locate the marriages and/or families of many of these children:

Anders Ersson was married about 1681 to Anna (family #444). They resided at Korberg and I have so far found record of three children.

Ingeborg Ersdotter was married in August 1686 to Jons Erichsson (family #450). I have not yet found record of any children.

Anna Ersdotter was married in 1683 to Johan Olofsson and they resided at Ostra Loa and were the parents of at least five children (family #448).

Peder Ersson was married in 1683 to Annika Mattsdotter, but I have not found record of any children (family #463).

Johan Ersson was married in 1684 to Anna Carlsdotter. They resided at Korberg and had at least three children (family #447).

I need to do further research on these families, in as much as there are likely other children. Also, some of them may have moved to another area, which makes them hard to identify, mainly because the early birth/chr records do not list the name of the mother.

We will now go to the lineage of Catarina or Carin Larsdotter, mother of these individuals and wife of Eric Ersson Sr. The marriage record shows that she was from Hakeboda in Ramsberg, and clerical survey records show that her parents were Lars Martensson and Anna (family #445) from Hakeboda, pedigree chart #11. The clerical survey records show four children, but it appears that there could have been others. I located the families of the two brothers of Catarina:

Lars or Lasse Larsson was married about 1686 to Ingeborg, with whom he had two children (family #449).

Matts Larsson was married about 1680 to Catharina, with whom he had at least five children (family #446).

Next if you will go to pedigree chart #9 we will discuss some of your ancestors on this sheet. First is the family of Pahl Ersson Orje and Malin Mattsdotter (family #97). I have now identified the birth/chr record of Pahl, who was born at Norrbarke in Kopparberg. He was the son of Erich Mattsson of Knipeberget in Norrbarke parish (family #165). I have not been able to identify the mother. However, it appears that there were at least two other sons in this family, Daniel, and likely an older son, Matts, who was married in 1694 at Ramsberg (family #452).

Still on pedigree chart #9 you will see the family of Erich Ohlsson and Annicka Nilsdotter (family #84). Erich Ohlsson was also supposedly originally from Norrbarke parish. However, I was unable to locate any birth/chr entry at Norrbarke which agreed with his approximate age. It is possible that he resided at Norrbarke, but was not actually born there.

As reported previously, I have identified the parents of Annicka or Anna Nilsdotter, wife of Erich Ohlsson. They were Nils Haraldsson and Sigrid Andersdotter (family #99) of Korslangen in Ramsberg. I have located one more child who appears to belong in this family, Harald Nilsson, his marriage, and the marriage of Sara Nilsdotter. These two individuals were married as follows:

Harald Nilsson was married to Carin Hansdotter (family #441) and they had at least one child.

Sara Nilsdotter was married in 1692 to Daniel Mattsson, who was originally from Ludvika parish in Kopparberg (family #440). They apparently had at least two children. They may have resided part of the time at Ludvika.

Next on pedigree chart #9 is the family of Mans Jacobsson and Anna Pehrsdotter (family #85). They are your 8th great grandparents. They were married in 1693 at Ramsberg and resided at Sorsjon. I have now found record of eight children. I have also identified the father of Mans Jacobsson, who was Jacob Jonsson of Sorsjon (family #100). It appears that he was married twice. The name of his first wife is not known, but his second wife was apparently the widow Karen (family #454). The name of her first husband is also unknown, but she apparently had a daughter Annicka (family #453). Jacob Jonsson's daughter Maria was married in 1689 to Berthil Pedersson (family #451).

You will also note that I previously listed a brother to Mans Jacobsson, Hans Jacobsson. I have now came to the conclusion that this was in error. I could not find record of Hans in the clerical survey records, and it appears to me that the clerk mistakenly listed Hans Jacobsson in the marriage record for Mans Jacobsson.

On pedigree chart #14 is the family of Eric Mattsson and Elisabet Larsdotter, your 8th great grandparents (family #26). I have not been able to determine the full name of Eric's father. However, it appears that Eric had at least one sister, Elisabeth Mattsdotter (family #377). She was married in 1684 to Lars Nilsson (family #464).

Lastly there are two family group sheets from Lindesberg parish. On pedigree chart #46 is the family of Hans Andersson and Elisabet Andersdotter (family #286) who are your 9th great grandparents. I have located one more child in this family, Kirsten Hansdotter, who was married in 1687 to Anders Ifvarsson (family #439).

That covers the research which I have done for you this period. Please send me a quick e-mail to let me know that you received this report and whether you have any questions. Best wishes for a good New Year. I look forward to hearing from you soon and continuing with your research.

Sincerely yours,
Linda K. Larson
