Dear Mr. Mower,

The goal of this research session was to complete the family group records for the lineage of Karl E. Johansson. I began with a search of the Lindesberg marriages for Kerstin Pehrsdotter, daughter of Par Andersson and Kerstin Jansdotter. I located her marriage to Lars Olsson on 19 May 1774. Kerstin and Lars were the parents of four children, all born in Björkhyttan in the parish of Lindesberg. Lars Olsson died 30 October 1818 in Björkhyttan and was shown to be a widower. Your PAF file indicates that Kerstin died in 1815, but no record of her death has been found in Lindesberg from 1815 to 1818. The clerical survey of 1806 to 1815 does not note Kerstin death and neither Lars Olsson nor Kerstin Pehrsdotter were located in Björkhyttan in the 1816 to 1830 clerical survey.

Efforts to locate the marriages and deaths of the children of Lars and Kerstin were successful. Their daughter Anna is in the direct line of Karl E. Johansson. She married Erich Andersson on 16 July 1797 in Lindesberg and was the mother of eight children. Unfortunately, her husband Erich died 8 October 1817, leaving Anna to support a large family with the youngest child only 6 months old. Because of this, the children were dispersed, making the family much more difficult to trace. The 1816 to 1830 clerical survey shows Anna Larsdotter in Snuggan in the parish of Lindesberg and notes that she is poor. Living with her are her two youngest daughters. Anna's eldest child was Per, grandfather of Karl E. Johansson. Her next child was Christina, who married Lars Ersson in 1825 and died in 1864 in Björkhyttan. Anna's son Eric Ersson married Christina Andersdotter in 1842, but the clerical surveys indicate that he left for the parish of Nora in 1846. His records in Nora still need to be located, but I cannot access the moving records of Nora to narrow the search. Eric' wife was reportedly born in Nora but three possible matches were located for her birth in 1793, so more work will need to be done to determine which is correct. Anna's son Lars has yet to be located in any records past the clerical survey of 1806 to 1815. Her daughter Anna married Gustaf Larsson in 1837 and died in the city of Lindesberg in 1891. Anna's youngest child Catharina married Per Daniel Andersson in 1842. Per died in 1859, but Catharina was still living in Fanthyttan, Lindesberg Parish for the 1882 to 1891 clerical survey. Additional clerical survey searches should be made to locate Catharina's death date.

Per or Petter Ersson married Anna Andersdotter 12 October 1825 in the parish of Lindesberg and fathered eight children. Per died 6 April 1862 and Anna died 1 March 1855. Time did not allow for all of the research on this family to be completed, but initial searches located the births of their children Anna Lovisa, Johanna, Per Eric, Johan, and Lars. Per Eric died in 1849, but the remaining births, marriages, and deaths still need to be found. Clerical surveys should be utilized to aid in these searches.

Sincerely,

Susan Glenn, AG
